The Rich Get Richer, the Poor Can Too Book Review

Image
It's human nature to do things the same. Stacey Currie, in her book The Rich Get Richer, The Poor Can Too , offers practical and easy-to-apply tips to get us moving in a different and possibly more profitable direction by discovering our passion. Her story is an incredible one. Folks didn't give her much thought at being successful, much less making it past her teens. She proved them wrong, becoming a successful businesswoman who is currently living her dream life. She grew up in a housing commission, without a mother, was sexually abused at the age of nine, lived in a shed at 14, became pregnant at 15. By 19 years old she was homeless with two babies and at 21 found herself in a violent relationship. She didn't give up, she went on to achieve her dreams. “ If you have dreamed of success in your life but can’t seem to pinpoint exactly what your goal is, this book is for you ,” says Currie. “ If you are powered by passion, all things are possible .” Now 32, Currie defied th...

The Mad Apprentice Continues The Forbidden Library Series

Image
I received The Mad Apprentice in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own. In The Mad Apprentice, we join Alice a few months after The Forbidden Library . Her special power realization, still has her studying with her Geryson to be a Reader. the game in The Mad Apprentice becomes even bigger. An older, well-known Reader is killed by their apprentice, Jacob, and Alice joins the Readers to see if the books are all in order and bring in the killer apprentice--dead or alive. We enjoyed this book and found that while The Forbidden Library was perhaps a mystery, The Mad Apprentice is more an action genre. It's a fun ride as the Library Labyrinth is quite the character. The character of Alice is developing and readers really see that she is a thinker who is able to use her head. She is compassionate and deeply cares for the creatures that assist her. There is a dragon that Alice interacts with that made my daughter nearly cry! Alice is a great leader and persistent. In The ...

When Miss M was in Kindergarten we loved Junie B. Jones and the books by Caralyn Buehner . They filled our evenings with adventure and laughter. Sarah Dillard captures the same fun in her book series, Mouse Scouts. We received Mouse Scouts and Mouse Scouts Make a Difference for review and oh, my! The books are adorable. They are such sweet chapter books for beginning readers. They would be perfect for little girls who are excited about scouting, or just want to read a fun story. Each book in the Mouse Scouts series revolves around the Scouts journey to achieve a new merit badge. Mouse Scouts Synopsis: The first book, Mouse Scouts , covers the "Sow It and Grow It" badge.
